Fairy Cards with Masking feat. Avery Elle

Hello folks! I am back today with a new post. I feel like it has been a while since I posted! But, alas, I am here again. December is always a busy time, so I needed to take a blogging break. Today, I am going to create two cards with masking to create scenes! I just LOVE these fairy stamps from Avery Elle. They are just so dang cute!

So, to start off, let's discuss the concept of masking.  Masking allows you to use your stamps to create scenes, and to 'alter' the stamps, too! Masking is stamping the image on a piece of paper or masking paper, then you cut it out to put it on top. Then you can stamp on top again. The key rule is that you need to stamp what you want on first then mask it off and stamp on top.

This is my pile of masks to make these cards! Haha!

So, I started off by stamping off my fairy, because i wanted it out first.

Then, I stamped the clouds out because I wanted the fairy to be "standing" on the clouds.

I then wanted a set of stars and hearts in the rightward direction. I thought this would help bring the card together!

I then decided that I wanted to go ahead and stamp the sentiment. To do this, I used Versamark Ink and then used a gold glitter embossing powder and heat set it with my heat tool. You must do this because otherwise the embossing powder will just flake off!

I then just did some simple watercoloring. I used some watercolors from Michaels, but I will link some similar pearlescent watercolors.

Because I couldn't stop myself, I attached some sequins onto the cards. I hope you enjoyed these simple, yet beautiful, cards. I hope you enjoy! I will link my products below, as well as some similar products if I can't link the exact product! Thanks for visiting!
